Here is preview of the work in progress! The VOICE program is  a program for 18-21 year olds in the Edmonds School dist. that serves folks with disabilities and equips them to join the work force and for adult life. I have the honor of teaching art workshops with these  fine folks and my daughter Jessica is in the program. We are so honored to be chosen as the featured artists for  Art Spot in the February Edmonds Art Walk https://artspot.squarespace.com/ . The students have had 3 workshops at Art Works in Edmonds learning about Henri Matisse and his painted paper cutout art. They have painted lots of beautiful papers with acrylic paints and added pattern with random objects. After sketching  shapes that remind them of our theme for February.. love, friendship, community.. they cut their shapes out of the colorful papers for collaging onto various substrates. We will be showing students individual pieces and 2 large 36″x36″ pieces on recycled doors at the reception on February 19th. The night will celebrate the students hard work and beautiful creations as well as all things artfully French.
