Mary Peterson

Mary Peterson

Mary Peterson had always been drawn to anything made with fibers, especially hand made quilts and mixed media.  She started her venture down the fiber arts road by taking classes in traditional quilting and needlework, and she learned the basic of the craft by working part-time at a quilt shop.  After finishing a stock pile of quilts for family and friends, Mary began to explore other quilting art techniques and fabric alteration.  She loves working with bits of old and new cloth, using anything from candy wrappers to velvet drapery in her pieces. Mary’s work has been in the Puget Sound Artist Show in Edmonds, WA, The Arts of Snohomish Gallery, in Snohomish, WA, The Bouncing Wall store in Seattle, WA, and the Columbia City Gallery in Seattle, WA.  Mary is also a wife, mother of two girls, and a Registered Nurse currently working part-time as a hospice home health nurse.

“Nobody knows how much the Lord can help ‘em till they try.” ~Eliza from ‘Uncle Toms Cabin’

“A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” -Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
